Lichfield Nomads C.C. V Springvale

Arctic conditions for Nomads first home match at Kings Bromley

The weather in late April can sometimes be quite pleasant in England but not today. It was freezing.
Thankfully it was dry and the match went ahead as planned with 3 sweaters the order of the day.

Springvale batted first and carried on where they left off last season with a dominant batting display posting 198 for 7.
Both openers reached their half century. Baker retired on 50 and Shav was finally bowled by Cartwright for 74
. Cartwright picked up four wickets and Hoddy grabbed two.

The Nomads reply was ponderous against accurate Springvale bowling and we were always behind the rate. There was three wickets each for Cavell and Benson.
In the end a disappointing 113 for 7 was all that could be mustered, Fearon top scoring with 33.
