Nomads get out of jail with two wicket victory

Rolfe and Cartwright steered the Nomads over the line in a dramatic finish at Kings Bromley as Lichfield Nomads beat D2 by just 2 wickets.

At 88 for 6 the game was in the balance and when Dazzler joined Rolfey at the crease at 135 for 8, the pair needed 26 to win. But they kept their heads and ensured a second successive victory for the Nomads with 12 overs to spare.

Earlier D2 had finished their innings on 160 for 9. Lyon top scored with 58 not out and Luke Colson scored 45, the only other batter to reach double figures. Cartwright picked up 3 wickets and there were two each for Hoddy, Hutton and Adam Hughes.

In reply Luke Turnbull top scored with 35 and Gardner (22) and Hutton (19) chipped in with vital contributions.
