Lichfield Nomads C.C. v Old Moseley C.C.

Rain ends exciting match

Nomads knew it would be a tough match against Old Moseley whom we have never beaten. Dan Lee got us off to a good start with a couple of wickets but the incoming batsmen carried on at a brisk rate and were over 100 at the half way stage. Hoddy opened well in his spell taking the 2 set batsmen in his 2nd over but could not maintain the pressure Aneek Mahmood took a wicket with a splendid catch by Ian Hughes and then a good spell by Tony Jordan saw him claim 3 wickets. Moseley ended on 247 which looked to be a tough target. However the rain intervened and the decision was made to abandon the match. It might have been interesting if big hitters Loxley and Mahmood had got going.
Nomads struggled to maintain discipline against some big hitting. However we stuck at it and although we dropped a few tough chances still managed to take 6 catches. A draw was probably our best result against Old Moseley.
